Rayanapadu Railway Gate Triggers Daily Traffic Chaos

Severe traffic congestion at the Rayanapadu Railway Gate in the Vijayawada Rural Mandal has become a major concern for thousands of commuters, with locals demanding an immediate permanent solution from the government.

The railway gate, located under the Mylavaram Assembly Constituency in NTR district, witnesses massive traffic jams every day due to increasing railway operations and heavy vehicle movement. With four railway lines already completed and loop line works nearing completion, congestion has worsened significantly.

Residents of nearby villages including Rayanapadu, Paidurupadu, Kavuluru, and Velagaleru depend on this route daily for schools, offices, markets, and hospitals. Long queues of vehicles stretch for kilometers whenever the gate closes, forcing commuters to remain stranded for hours. Students are reaching schools late, employees are struggling to report to work on time, and workers are losing valuable work hours.

Locals say the situation becomes critical during medical emergencies, as ambulances are also getting trapped in traffic. Despite temporary traffic diversion measures, people allege that authorities have failed to provide a permanent solution.

Citizens and public organizations are now demanding clarity on the long-pending flyover proposal and urging the government to respond immediately before the situation worsens further.
