Padyatra Changed My Perspective: Lokesh

Andhra Pradesh HRD, IT and Electronics Minister Nara Lokesh said his Padyatra was a transformative experience that helped him understand people's issues and connect with grassroots realities. In an interview with a national media outlet, Lokesh said interacting directly with citizens across constituencies gave him a deeper understanding of governance challenges.

He remarked that while his MBA at Stanford Graduate School of Business enhanced his business acumen, the Padyatra strengthened his emotional understanding of public issues. “The IQ bit I got from Stanford, the EQ bit I got from Padyatra,” he said.

Lokesh noted that the experience continues to influence decisions in sectors such as irrigation, rural development and education. He also called for reforms in examination systems like NEET, including multiple testing opportunities and stronger computer-based assessments.

Highlighting Andhra Pradesh’s investment potential, he said Speed, Stability and Service remain key drivers of investor confidence. He cited major projects, including a Google data centre, ArcelorMittal steel plant and the AMCA fighter jet initiative. Lokesh reiterated the vision of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu to transform Andhra Pradesh into a $2.4 trillion economy by 2047.
