Naidu, Lokesh Join Yoga Day
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Minister for Education and IT Nara Lokesh participated in the 12th International Yoga Day celebrations held at the Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium in Vijayawada on Saturday. The event, organized under the state government's “Yogandhra” initiative, witnessed enthusiastic participation from thousands of students, youth, government employees, and yoga enthusiasts.
The leaders joined renowned yoga guru Baba Ramdev in performing various yoga asanas and pranayama exercises as part of the International Yoga Day programme. Wearing special Yogandhra T-shirts, Chandrababu Naidu and Nara Lokesh actively took part in the mass yoga session, encouraging people to adopt yoga as a daily practice for better physical and mental health.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister emphasized the importance of yoga in promoting a healthy lifestyle and reducing stress in modern life. He stated that the state government is committed to spreading awareness about yoga through district-level programmes and public participation initiatives.
The grand event reflected Andhra Pradesh’s commitment to wellness and fitness, with participants from different sections of society coming together to celebrate the ancient Indian practice.
