Man Dies After Car Blaze
A shocking incident was reported on the highway near Tumakuru, where a 30-year-old man allegedly attacked a young woman with a knife before setting himself on fire inside a car. The accused, identified as Nagendra, was reportedly a resident of Bengaluru.
According to preliminary information, Nagendra allegedly stabbed the woman while both were inside the vehicle. He then ignited a petrol bomb inside the car, triggering a massive fire. The vehicle was completely engulfed in flames within minutes.
Despite sustaining serious injuries, the woman managed to escape from the burning car in time, saving her life. She was rushed to a nearby hospital, where she is undergoing treatment. Meanwhile, Nagendra was trapped inside the vehicle and died after being burnt alive.
Police and emergency personnel reached the scene soon after receiving information and extinguished the fire. The burnt vehicle was later removed from the highway to restore traffic movement.
Authorities have registered a case and launched an investigation to determine the motive behind the attack. Police are collecting evidence, examining the circumstances leading to the incident, and recording statements from the injured woman and other witnesses.
