KOLLU RAVINDRA AND PALLA SRINIVASA RAO MAY EXCHANGE THEIR POSTS IN A POSSIBLE CABINET RESHUFFLE
Political circles in Andhra Pradesh are abuzz with speculation about a possible cabinet reshuffle in the state government after the upcoming Ugadi festival. The discussion gained momentum after a social media post by political strategist Praveen Pullata, Chairman and Managing Director of the RISE Group.
In a post on the social media platform X, Pullata suggested that significant changes in the state cabinet could take place soon. His message quickly drew attention because he named five leaders who could potentially be inducted into the cabinet.
The names mentioned include Palla Srinivasa Rao, the current president of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), Bendalam Ashok, Maddipati Venkata Raju, Vemireddy Prasanthi Reddy, and Konatala Ramakrishna.
Among these names, Konatala Ramakrishna represents the Jana Sena Party, an alliance partner of the ruling coalition. Political observers note that his possible inclusion could replace earlier discussions about inducting Nagababu into the cabinet. According to current speculation, the proposal to bring Nagababu into the ministry has almost been set aside, with Konatala Ramakrishna emerging as the likely choice instead.
Another notable name is Maddipati Venkata Raju, who is considered close to Nara Lokesh. Raju reportedly worked earlier in Lokesh’s office and is widely regarded as part of the young leader’s team within the party. His inclusion in the cabinet would likely strengthen Lokesh’s influence within the government.
Bendalam Ashok, the MLA from Itchapuram, is another senior leader whose name has surfaced. However, his possible induction may come as a setback for Goutu Sirisha, who has been expecting a ministerial position since the formation of the government.
One of the most intriguing aspects of the speculation involves Palla Srinivasa Rao. Political insiders suggest there is a proposal to replace Kollu Ravindra in the cabinet with Palla Srinivasa Rao. Under this arrangement, Kollu Ravindra may be assigned greater organizational responsibilities within the Telugu Desam Party.
Observers note that both Palla Srinivasa Rao and Kollu Ravindra belong to the Backward Classes (BC) community, which plays a crucial role in the state’s political landscape. The proposed adjustment is therefore seen as a way to maintain caste balance while strengthening the party’s structure.
The speculation about changes in the cabinet has also been linked to recent controversies surrounding certain departments. In particular, criticism has reportedly been directed at the handling of issues related to adulterated liquor and mining activities.
Sources indicate that concerns were raised regarding the functioning of the Mining Department, including difficulties faced by a company working on projects in the Amaravati capital development area. The company reportedly faced problems obtaining soil required for construction, which falls under the jurisdiction of the mining authorities.
According to political insiders, the matter eventually reached Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu after intervention by a former minister. During a subsequent review meeting, Naidu is said to have strongly criticized district collectors from three districts over the issue and warned officials from the Mining Department.
Despite the criticism, Kollu Ravindra remains a loyal and long-time leader of the Telugu Desam Party and is considered close to the Naidu family. Because of this, party leaders are reportedly considering assigning him a key organizational role rather than sidelining him completely.
Political analysts say the possible reshuffle could serve multiple purposes: addressing administrative concerns, accommodating alliance partners, and strengthening the party’s electoral strategy ahead of future political contests.
They also note that leaders from the BC community continue to play a vital role in the TDP’s support base. By reshaping both the cabinet and the party organization, the leadership may aim to consolidate this important voter group, which has traditionally been a significant pillar of the party’s electoral strength.
While no official announcement has been made so far, the speculation triggered by Pullata’s post has ensured that the possibility of a cabinet reshuffle remains a major topic of discussion in Andhra Pradesh politics.
