ISKCON Announces Jagannath Rath Yatra
International Society for Krishna Consciousness Vijayawada will celebrate the Sri Jagannath Rath Yatra 2026 on July 16, marking the sixth consecutive year of hosting one of South India's largest Jagannath chariot festivals. Thousands of devotees from Andhra Pradesh and neighbouring states are expected to participate in the grand annual event.
The procession will begin at Sitara Grounds in Bhavanipuram and conclude at Seethammavari Paadalu Grounds. The decorated chariot carrying the deities of Lord Jagannath, Lord Baladeva and Devi Subhadra will travel through the city amid devotional chants, kirtans, and enthusiastic participation from devotees.
A three-day Sri Jagannath Rath Mela will also be held from July 16 to 18, featuring cultural performances, devotional exhibitions, spiritual literature, traditional arts and crafts, children's activities, and prasadam distribution.
The temple is led by Chakradhari Das, an IIT Kharagpur graduate, who has expanded the organisation's spiritual and community outreach initiatives. Organisers have invited devotees, families, students, and the public to participate in the celebrations and receive the blessings of Lord Jagannath.
