Hyderabad Meat Adulteration Racket Busted
Hyderabad, July 1: Food Safety officials and the Hyderabad Food Safety Task Force (H-FAST), along with the police, uncovered an alleged meat adulteration racket in Habib Nagar. During the operation, officials arrested a man identified as Usman Qureshi for allegedly mixing beef with mutton and supplying it to several hotels in the city at lower prices.
Based on specific information, officials raided the accused's shop in Mallepally and seized around 50 kilograms of adulterated meat. The seized meat has been sent for laboratory examination to confirm its composition.
Authorities said the operation was part of intensified inspections aimed at curbing food adulteration and ensuring public health. A case has been registered against the accused, and further investigation is underway to identify the hotels that allegedly procured the adulterated meat and determine whether others were involved in the racket.
