Google’s Entry to Transform Andhra Pradesh: CM Naidu

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu described April 28 as a historic milestone, marking a new growth phase with Google setting up operations in Visakhapatnam. He termed the project a “game changer” for the state.

Naidu laid the foundation stone for a massive AI data center at Taraluvada, with an investment of ₹1.35 lakh crore. He said the facility would serve as a major growth engine for both Andhra Pradesh and the country, positioning the region as a hub for advanced technology.

Highlighting its significance, the Chief Minister noted that the project is expected to be among the largest data centers in Asia. He added that companies like Bharti Airtel are also contributing to strengthening digital infrastructure in the region.

The project is scheduled for completion by September 2028. Naidu emphasized that artificial intelligence will drive innovation across sectors, boosting economic growth. He also announced plans to supply Godavari water to Visakhapatnam and Anakapalli within 60 days.

Reaffirming infrastructure commitments, he said the Polavaram Project would be completed before the upcoming Godavari Pushkaram, while the first phase of the ArcelorMittal steel plant is expected by 2028.

Naidu envisioned Visakhapatnam as a future “AI City,” adding that Andhra Pradesh is rapidly emerging as a technology gateway for India.
