Environmentalist Slams MP Bharat Over Liquor Remark
Environmentalist Bolisetti Satyanarayana has strongly criticized TDP MP Bharat over his reported remarks supporting the establishment of liquor outlets at beach locations. The comments have sparked debate among environmental activists and local residents concerned about the impact of commercial activities on coastal ecosystems.
Reacting to the MP’s statement, Satyanarayana condemned the proposal and questioned the logic behind allowing liquor shops in environmentally sensitive beach areas. In a sharp response, he sarcastically suggested that if such outlets were considered acceptable, they should be opened at Geetam University rather than on the coastline.
The environmentalist warned that any attempt to introduce liquor shops near beaches could adversely affect the environment, public cleanliness, and the natural beauty of coastal regions. He stressed that beaches are important public spaces and ecological zones that should be protected from activities that may encourage pollution and damage the surroundings.
Satyanarayana stated that environmental groups would strongly oppose any move that threatens the coastal ecosystem. He urged authorities to ensure that liquor outlets, if permitted, are located away from beaches and environmentally sensitive areas.
The remarks come amid discussions over tourism development and commercial activities in coastal regions. Environmentalists have repeatedly called for a balanced approach that promotes economic activity while safeguarding natural resources and preserving the ecological integrity of beach areas.
