Chandrababu Reduces Official Convoy
N. Chandrababu Naidu has taken a major step towards promoting austerity and fuel conservation by drastically reducing the size of his official convoy. Acting on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for responsible fuel usage, the Chief Minister cut his convoy from 12 vehicles to just four with immediate effect from Thursday.
Naidu implemented the decision during his journey from his camp office at Undavalli to the Secretariat in Amaravati for a Cabinet meeting. Officials confirmed that the reduced convoy system will continue for all future official movements.
The initiative is aimed at reducing fuel consumption, lowering public expenditure, easing traffic congestion, and encouraging disciplined governance. The Chief Minister also advised ministers and public representatives to adopt similar measures. Following his direction, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan reportedly reduced his convoy size by 50 percent despite having Z-category security. HRD Minister Nara Lokesh also streamlined his convoy to just two vehicles.
Officials said the move sends a strong message about cost-effective administration and leadership by example while promoting public trust and environmental responsibility.
