Bharat–Bhutan Rail Tour Announced by IRCTC
The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), under the Bharat Gaurav initiative of Indian Railways, has announced a special “Bharat–Bhutan Mystic Mountain Tour” starting May 5. The 14-day, 13-night journey aims to provide travellers with a seamless and culturally rich travel experience across India and Bhutan.
The tour will begin from Delhi Safdarjung Railway Station, with additional boarding points at Ghaziabad, Aligarh, Tundla, Kanpur, Lucknow, and Varanasi. Ticket prices have been fixed at ₹1,41,540 for AC First Class, ₹1,33,210 for AC Two-Tier, and ₹1,16,545 for AC Three-Tier, offering multiple travel options for passengers.
The itinerary covers a blend of spiritual, natural, and cultural destinations. In India, tourists will visit the revered Kamakhya Temple in Assam and enjoy a scenic evening cruise on the Brahmaputra River. In Meghalaya, the journey includes visits to Umiam Lake, Seven Sisters Waterfalls, Nohkalikai Falls, and Mawsmai Caves, showcasing the region’s natural beauty.
The Bhutan leg of the tour includes key attractions such as Motithang Takin Preserve, Tashichho Dzong, and Punakha Dzong. Travellers will also experience Bhutanese culture through traditional archery, museum visits, and guided treks.
IRCTC stated that the package is designed to combine comfort with exploration, offering a unique mix of spirituality, heritage, and Himalayan landscapes for tourists seeking an immersive cross-border travel experience.
