Bhadrachalam Temple Expansion Begins
The Telangana government on Saturday launched the long-awaited expansion and redevelopment works at the historic Bhadrachalam Sri Sita Ramachandra Swamy Temple. The project will be executed under a comprehensive master plan with an estimated outlay of ₹586 crore to enhance pilgrim amenities and preserve the temple's spiritual heritage.
In the first phase, works worth ₹200 crore will be taken up, focusing on expanding temple infrastructure, improving facilities for devotees, and upgrading the surrounding area. The project aims to accommodate the growing number of pilgrims visiting the shrine every year.
Officials have set a target to complete the first phase of the expansion before next year's Sri Rama Navami celebrations. The master plan also includes better queue management systems, improved sanitation, parking facilities, landscaping, and enhanced civic infrastructure around the temple.
The redevelopment initiative is expected to transform Bhadrachalam into a world-class pilgrimage destination while preserving its religious and cultural significance. Devotees and temple authorities have welcomed the project, expressing hope that the upgraded facilities will provide a better spiritual experience for pilgrims from across the country.
