AP Temples To Boost Digital, Green Services

Amaravati, May 19: Andhra Pradesh Endowments Department Ex-Officio Secretary Dr. M. Hari Jawahar Lal directed temple authorities to enhance online services and introduce new digital facilities for devotees across the state. Speaking at a high-level review meeting held at the department headquarters in Gollapudi with Executive Officers of 22 major temples, he stressed that there should be no compromise in providing better facilities to devotees.

Commissioner K. Ramachandra Mohan instructed officials to strictly implement a “Zero Waste Disposal Policy” in temples under the Swachh Andhra initiative. He emphasized eco-friendly practices including rooftop rainwater harvesting, sewage water recycling, solar energy promotion, and installation of biogas and piped gas plants within a month.

Officials were also asked to replicate successful practices implemented in one temple across all temples in the state, following the directions of the Chief Minister. Temple volunteers will also play a key role in promoting online services, social media outreach, and spiritual activities, officials said.
