AP Local Body Elections Soon

The Andhra Pradesh government has informed the High Court that it is fully prepared to conduct local body elections in the state and that the polls will be held soon. The statement was made during a hearing, where the government explained the progress of preparations for the upcoming elections.

Advocate General Dammalapati Srinivas, representing the state government, said the comprehensive family survey has been completed. He informed the court that the survey-related data will be placed before Gram Sabhas across the state for public review for two days from June 19.

The government has decided to invite objections and suggestions regarding the survey data until June 24. Officials will examine the received objections before moving ahead with the next steps in the election process.

The completion of the survey and verification of data are considered important steps ahead of conducting local body elections. The state government told the court that necessary arrangements are being made to ensure a smooth election process.

With the government expressing readiness, the focus now shifts to the completion of procedural formalities and further announcements regarding the schedule of local elections in Andhra Pradesh.
