The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet on Thursday decided to establish a special task force to address objectionable content and abusive posts on social media platforms.

During the Cabinet meeting in Amaravati, Director General of Police (DGP) Harish Kumar Gupta delivered a PowerPoint presentation on the growing misuse of social media and its impact on public order. The presentation focused on monitoring offensive content, strengthening enforcement, and improving coordination among law enforcement agencies.

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu directed officials not to tolerate objectionable comments or posts under any circumstances. He instructed authorities to take prompt action against those found posting abusive or inflammatory content online.

The Cabinet approved the formation of a dedicated task force to monitor social media activities and deal with cases involving offensive or unlawful posts. The government said the initiative is aimed at maintaining public order and ensuring responsible use of digital platforms.

Addressing coalition leaders, the Chief Minister alleged that YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) supporters were attempting to provoke alliance members through social media campaigns. He advised coalition leaders and workers to remain cautious and avoid falling into what he described as political "traps."

The meeting concluded with a focus on strengthening the government's response to online misinformation and objectionable content while promoting responsible digital communication across the state.
