Andhra Launches Amaravati Quantum AI Innovation Center

The Andhra Pradesh government is set to launch the Amaravati Quantum & AI Innovation Center (AQAIC) on June 18, marking a significant milestone in the state’s efforts to build a strong ecosystem for quantum computing and artificial intelligence. Developed under the Amaravati Quantum Valley programme in collaboration with IBM, the center aims to drive cutting-edge innovation and technological advancement.

AQAIC will serve as a collaborative platform connecting industry, academia, and global technology experts to develop practical solutions using quantum computing. Industry partners will provide real-world challenges, while professors and students will work on creating quantum-based algorithms and applications to address complex problems across multiple sectors.

IBM will support the initiative through access to its quantum ecosystem, including Qiskit, along with mentorship, training, and certification opportunities. A major strength of the programme is its network of 380 Quantum Innovation Cells across engineering colleges in Andhra Pradesh, involving more than 3,000 students and faculty members.

The center is expected to promote innovation in manufacturing, healthcare, logistics, agriculture, energy, finance, and governance. Officials believe the initiative will enhance skill development, encourage advanced research, generate intellectual property, and position Andhra Pradesh as a leading hub for deep-tech and quantum technology innovation in India.
