High Court Pulls Up SI
Hyderabad: The High Court expressed strong displeasure over the conduct of the Madhura Nagar Sub-Inspector in connection with the alleged arrest of a retired police officer. The court directed the SI to remain standing inside the courtroom until the lunch break, questioning whether police officers could act arbitrarily.
The court also expressed concern over allegations that the retired officer was dragged out of his house while wearing only undergarments. It questioned the SI on why the reasons for the arrest were not communicated as required by law. The High Court directed the Police Commissioner to submit a detailed report on the incident and adjourned the hearing to the 15th of this month.
