Food Safety Raids Expose Hygiene Lapses
Food safety officials conducted surprise inspections at two restaurants in Hyderabad and found several hygiene violations, leading to the issuance of improvement notices.
Officials inspected AnTeRa Restaurant in Miyapur’s Madinaguda area and identified multiple issues related to food storage and quality. The inspection team found fungus-affected cauliflower and other vegetables, cooking oil that was not suitable for use, and vegetable stocks stored without proper labels. Officials directed the management to immediately address the issues and improve food safety practices.
In another inspection at La Pino’z Pizza, located in the Hitec City area, officials reported serious sanitation concerns. They found insects inside refrigerators, cockroaches in the kitchen area, and vegetarian and non-vegetarian food items stored together, violating proper segregation norms. The team also noticed lizard droppings in areas where food materials were stored.
The food safety department issued improvement notices to both restaurants and instructed the managements to maintain strict hygiene, proper storage methods, and cleanliness standards. Officials said regular inspections will continue to ensure food safety compliance across eateries in the city.
