Ambati Slams AP Cabinet Decisions

Former Andhra Pradesh minister and YSRCP leader Ambati Rambabu criticised the state government's recent Cabinet meeting, alleging that it focused on benefiting select individuals rather than addressing public welfare.

Speaking at Tadepalli, Ambati claimed the Cabinet meeting was primarily aimed at facilitating the allocation of ports and land to favoured groups. He said the absence of five ministers reflected the "non-serious" nature of the meeting and alleged that discussions on public welfare had taken a back seat.

He questioned why the Director General of Police (DGP) attended the Cabinet meeting to discuss social media regulation, accusing the government of suppressing dissent. Ambati alleged that while complaints against TDP supporters were ignored, YSRCP workers faced what he described as "illegal cases," claiming that 1,394 party supporters had been arrested.

The former minister also questioned the government's decision to invoke the UAPA against Prashna Ravana, arguing that the law is meant for terrorism-related cases and should not be applied to ordinary individuals. He maintained that YSRCP had no connection with Prashna Ravana, stating that party president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy only agreed to provide legal assistance after a request from a woman associated with Ravana's team.

Ambati urged the government to focus on decisions that benefit the people instead of engaging in political controversies.
