Basara Temple Theft Shocks Devotees

A major theft was reported at the renowned Gnana Saraswati Temple in Basara, Telangana, causing concern among devotees and temple authorities.

The incident came to light early on Tuesday when temple priests arrived to perform the daily abhishekam rituals. Upon entering the premises, they discovered that thieves had broken into the temple and stolen valuable items belonging to the deity.

According to temple officials, the miscreants allegedly took away the silver crown adorning Goddess Saraswati and also made off with a temple hundi containing devotees’ offerings. The theft is believed to have occurred during the night hours.

The culprits reportedly gained access by breaking the locks of the nearby Maha Kali Temple within the temple complex. The damaged locks and signs of forced entry were noticed by staff during the morning inspection.

Police rushed to the spot after being alerted and launched an investigation. Authorities are examining CCTV footage and collecting forensic evidence to identify those responsible for the theft.

The incident has shocked devotees, as the Basara temple is one of the most revered pilgrimage centers dedicated to Goddess Saraswati in India.
