Youth Killed in Pithapuram Clash
A 28-year-old man was allegedly murdered in Mulapeta village of Pithapuram constituency following a dispute that reportedly began over inappropriate remarks made against his sister.
The deceased, identified as Rakesh, was a resident of Rameswaram village in Pedapudi mandal. He had reportedly come to Mulapeta to attend his grandmother's funeral. According to preliminary information, an argument broke out after Rakesh questioned a group of youths over their alleged inappropriate behaviour towards his sister near a local shop.
Later, while Rakesh was at the burial ground for his grandmother's funeral, he was allegedly attacked by a youth identified as Vamsi along with four others. Police said the assailants allegedly stabbed him with a knife, leaving him critically injured.
Local residents rushed Rakesh to the Government Hospital in Pithapuram. However, doctors declared him dead before he could receive treatment.
The incident triggered grief among the victim's family members, who gathered at the hospital after learning of his death. Police have registered a case and launched an investigation to identify the motive behind the attack and apprehend all those involved. Further legal action will be taken based on the findings of the investigation.
