Diarrhoea Cases Reported in Vijayawada

Around 20 people reportedly fell ill due to suspected diarrhoea in Giripuram, Vijayawada, prompting health authorities to launch emergency response measures. The affected individuals were admitted to hospitals, where they are receiving treatment.

According to preliminary information, the outbreak is suspected to have been caused by contamination of drinking water following a leak in a local water supply pipeline. Health officials immediately visited the affected area to assess the situation and monitor the condition of residents.

Medical teams have intensified surveillance in the locality and are taking preventive measures to prevent the spread of waterborne diseases. Officials are also collecting water samples for laboratory testing to determine the exact cause of the contamination.

Authorities have advised residents to consume only boiled or purified drinking water, maintain proper hygiene, and seek immediate medical attention if symptoms such as diarrhoea, vomiting, or fever develop.
