Kambala Launches Massive Saree Drive
Spiritual leader, social worker, Vishwa Hindu Dharma Parirakshana Ramasena president, and BJP leader Kambala Srinivasa Rao has announced a large-scale welfare initiative titled "Kambala Kanuka" for the Shravan month. Under the programme, he plans to distribute 50,000 silk sarees at an estimated cost of ₹1 crore to women across selected villages in East Godavari district.
According to the organisers, 25,000 sarees will be distributed to women, while another 25,000 sarees will be presented to women teachers as part of the upcoming Guru Pooja celebrations in recognition of their contribution to society.
In addition, preparations have been made to distribute gold coins worth approximately ₹2 crore to women on the occasion of Varalakshmi Vratham. The organisers stated that this initiative has been conducted for the past four years and will continue on a larger scale this year.
The distribution programme began on July 11 and will continue until August 19, covering 22 selected villages, including Gokavaram, Rajanagaram, Korukonda, Seethanagaram, Addateegala, Rampachodavaram, and surrounding areas. Organisers expect the initiative to benefit thousands of women during the festive season.
