AP Approves Thalliki Vandanam Scheme

The Andhra Pradesh government has issued orders implementing the 'Thalliki Vandanam' scheme for the current academic year. The initiative will benefit students studying from Class 1 to Class 12, aiming to support families and encourage school education across the state.

As part of the implementation, the Andhra Pradesh School Education Department has approved ₹10,120.78 crore for the scheme. The funds will be used to provide financial assistance to eligible beneficiaries in accordance with the government's guidelines.

The 'Thalliki Vandanam' scheme is designed to reduce the financial burden on families while promoting school enrolment and regular attendance. By extending the scheme to students from primary to higher secondary education, the government seeks to strengthen educational access and improve learning opportunities.

Officials said the release of funds will facilitate timely implementation during the ongoing academic year. Detailed operational guidelines and beneficiary-related procedures are expected to be followed by the concerned departments to ensure smooth execution.

The initiative forms part of the state's broader efforts to support education and improve student welfare. The government believes the scheme will encourage parents to continue their children's education while providing financial support for schooling expenses.
