TTD Board Approves Key Decisions

The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Board has approved a series of major decisions aimed at improving pilgrim facilities, infrastructure, and temple services across its institutions.

To enhance the experience of devotees visiting Tirumala, the board sanctioned ₹6.31 crore for the construction of permanent shelters and improved amenities near Alwar Tank for Sarva Darshan pilgrims. It also approved ₹2.77 crore for building a double-lane bridge connecting the Kumaradhara and Pasupudhara dams to improve accessibility.

In a move towards sustainable energy, the board cleared the installation of an 800-kilowatt wind turbine in Tirumala. Additionally, ₹5 crore has been allocated for the scientific processing of legacy solid waste. To strengthen safety measures, ₹2.35 crore was sanctioned for upgrading fire safety systems in TTD temples.

The board also approved the construction of a 100-room pilgrims' rest house at Ontimitta to accommodate more devotees. Preparations for the printing of the 2027 Srivari diaries and calendars were also cleared.

Further, TTD approved the appointment of 791 Veda scholars to strengthen Vedic recitations and religious services. The board also sanctioned an increase in remuneration for artists associated with temple cultural and devotional programmes, recognising their contribution to preserving traditional arts and heritage.
