Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal and his wife Dhanashree Varma have officially parted ways. The Bandra Family Court in Mumbai granted their divorce today, confirming the end of their marriage. Chahal’s lawyer, Nitin Kumar Gupta, stated that the couple is no longer legally bound as husband and wife.
Chahal and Dhanashree arrived at the Mumbai Family Court this morning to complete the final legal proceedings. As part of the settlement, Chahal has agreed to pay Dhanashree Rs. 4.75 crore as maintenance.
The couple, who tied the knot in December 2020, had been living separately for some time. Their divorce process was expedited as per the Bombay High Court’s directive, considering Chahal’s commitment to the upcoming IPL season.
Meanwhile, Chahal is set to play for Punjab Kings in IPL 2025. The seasoned spinner, who previously represented Rajasthan Royals (RR), was acquired by Punjab for Rs. 18 crores in the mega auction held last November.
