Telangana Govt Invites Applications for New Bar Licenses

Renewal of 40 canceled bar licenses

Application deadline until April 26

Applications invited for bars across various districts

The Telangana government has invited applications for the renewal of 40 bar licenses that were previously canceled due to various reasons. The Excise Department Commissioner, Chevuri Harikiran, issued notifications for the renewal process, with applications open until April 26.

Out of the 40 canceled licenses, the authorities have decided to renew five bars in Adilabad, one in Karimnagar, four in Warangal, two in Khammam, one in Nalgonda, five in Mahabubnagar, one in Medak, four in Nizamabad, and two in Rangareddy district.

However, due to ongoing MLC elections for local bodies under the GHMC, applications are not being accepted for 15 bars within the GHMC area. As a result, notifications have been issued for 25 bars located in rural districts of Telangana.

In Meerpet Municipality, Saroornagar Excise Superintendent Ujjwala Reddy announced that a notification has been issued for a new bar to replace an old one. The application fee is set at Rs. 1 lakh, while the bar license fee amounts to Rs. 42 lakh.

Similarly, in Kodangal Municipality under the Vikarabad Excise Superintendent's jurisdiction, Excise Deputy Commissioner Dasharath stated that applications are being invited for a new bar in CM Revanth Reddy’s own constituency of Kodangal. The application fee is Rs. 1 lakh, with an annual fee of Rs. 30 lakh.
