Telangana High Court Dismisses 14-Year-Old Case Against KCR
Rail roco case from 2011 quashed
Relief for BRS chief K. Chandrasekhar Rao
High Court issues verdict dismissing the case
The Telangana High Court has provided relief to BRS chief and former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao by dismissing the 14-year-old rail roco case registered against him during the separate state movement.
The incident dates back to October 15, 2011, when a rail roco was organized in Secunderabad as part of the agitation for a separate Telangana state. Police had registered a case and arrested several individuals during the protest.
While the case was pending in the People's Representatives Court, the public prosecutor argued that the rail roco was initiated under KCR's call. However, KCR’s lawyer contended that he was not present at the location when the protest occurred.
After hearing arguments from both sides, the High Court delivered a verdict dismissing the case against KCR, bringing an end to the prolonged legal battle.
