Mitchell Marsh Re-signs Three-Year Contract with Perth Scorchers

Marsh commits to Perth Scorchers until the end of BBL 17

One-club player since the inaugural BBL season in 2011-12

Second on Scorchers’ all-time list for BBL runs with 1904 runs from 71 matches

Perth Scorchers star Mitchell Marsh has extended his commitment to the franchise by signing a three-year contract, ensuring his stay until the end of BBL 17. Marsh, who has been with the Scorchers since the Big Bash League's inception in 2011-12, expressed pride in his loyalty to the club, emphasizing his desire to remain a one-club player.

Marsh and Sydney Sixers veteran Moises Henriques are the only players to have stayed with their original club for all 14 editions of the BBL. Marsh, Australia's T20 skipper with extensive international experience, has played a pivotal role in Perth’s BBL Season 3 and BBL Season 11 titles.

Currently second on the Scorchers’ all-time list for BBL runs, Marsh has amassed 1904 runs at an average of 38.08 from 71 matches and claimed 25 wickets with his versatile pace bowling. His century against Hobart Hurricanes in 2021 remains a standout performance.

Reflecting on the new contract, Marsh said he was proud to continue with a franchise that had supported him since his youth. “The idea of always coming home and playing for the Scorchers and hopefully finishing my career as a one-club player will be something I’m really proud of in years to come,” he stated.

Perth Scorchers General Manager Kade Harvey highlighted Marsh's significance to the team, describing him as “massive for the fabric of our franchise” and noting his leadership, experience, and hunger for success.
