Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) batsman Nicholas Pooran delivered a sensational innings, scoring 70 runs in just 26 balls against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Uppal. His explosive performance included 6 fours and 6 sixes, with a strike rate of 269.23.
Pooran’s half-century came off just 18 balls, making him the player with the most half-centuries in 20 balls or less in IPL history. He has achieved this remarkable feat four times so far. Following him are Travis Head and Jake Fraser-McGurk, who have scored three such half-centuries each.
The Caribbean star also formed a crucial 116-run partnership with Mitchell Marsh, helping Lucknow secure a victory. Pooran’s latest knock has made him the highest run-scorer of the season with a total of 145 runs, followed by Marsh with 124 runs.
However, despite Pooran’s heroics, SRH defeated LSG by 5 wickets in yesterday’s thrilling encounter.
