Following a series of allegations against teachers at Rajahmundry’s Nannayya University, officials have initiated a thorough investigation after the issue was highlighted by True Point media. The matter was brought to the attention of Education Minister Nara Lokesh, who promptly directed authorities to conduct a detailed probe to uncover the truth.
Nannayya University Vice-Chancellor Prasanna Sri has taken the allegations seriously and appointed a special officer from Andhra University to spearhead the investigation. The special officer, who initially examined the matter through a video conference, arrived in Rajahmundry on Thursday to conduct a comprehensive inquiry on-site.
During her visit, the special officer has been meeting with various teachers and students to gather firsthand information. Sources indicate that several students have been questioned about the behavior of the accused teachers, Satyanarayana and Rajasekhar, who are reportedly facing allegations of misconduct. As the primary victim has left the university, efforts are being made to contact her for a statement.
The special officer is also collecting testimonies from fellow students and faculty members to build a clear picture of the incidents. Despite the ongoing investigation, the accused teachers continue to attend classes and perform their regular duties, which has raised concerns among the student community.
Vice-Chancellor Prasanna Sri is reportedly treating the case as a priority, with intentions to ensure justice is served without bias. She has made it clear that if the allegations are substantiated, stringent action will be taken against the erring teachers. Consideration is also being given to temporarily suspending them from duty until the investigation is concluded.
Education Minister Nara Lokesh has requested a detailed report on the findings at the earliest. The investigation is expected to reach a conclusion soon, with appropriate measures to be taken based on the evidence gathered.
