Jagan visits rain-affected banana farmers in Pulivendula

Alleges the coalition government stopped farmer assurance funds

Promises full support to farmers if YSRCP returns to power

Former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy visited banana farmers in Pulivendula constituency on Monday after their crops were damaged by untimely rains. Arriving in Thathireddypalli village in the YSR district, he inspected the affected fields and interacted with farmers to understand their losses.

Speaking to the media, Jagan asserted that during his tenure, free crop insurance was implemented as a farmer’s right, and financial assistance was provided regularly. He criticized the current coalition government, claiming that it had removed crop insurance and halted farmer assurance funds. He accused Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu of failing to fulfill his promise of giving ₹26,000 per farmer, stating, "Not even 26 paise has been given so far."

Jagan urged farmers to remain patient, assuring them that once YSRCP returns to power, all pending funds will be released. He pledged to reinstate crop insurance, provide input subsidies, and resume financial assistance to farmers. He also stated that while YSRCP is currently in opposition, the party will pressure the government to ensure farmers receive the compensation they deserve.

He concluded by promising to extend all possible help to affected farmers on behalf of YSRCP, reinforcing his commitment to their welfare.
