Pawan Kalyan Assures No Reduction in Southern States’ Seats Due to Delimitation
AP Deputy CM assures that seats in the south will not decrease
Jana Sena reminds that no official announcement has been made on delimitation
Opposes any forced imposition of Hindi on the southern states
Amid growing concerns over the proposed delimitation exercise, Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and Jana Sena President Pawan Kalyan has assured that the number of parliamentary seats in the southern states will not be reduced. He stated that as a member of the NDA alliance, he would ensure that the interests of the southern states are protected.
His statement comes after Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin accused the central government of attempting to reduce the political influence of the southern states under the pretext of delimitation. Stalin recently convened an all-party meeting in Chennai to mobilize opposition against the proposal.
Pawan Kalyan, responding to the ongoing debate, clarified that no official announcement has been made regarding the redivision of constituencies. He cautioned that premature speculations could create unnecessary divisions. While reiterating his commitment to safeguarding the representation of southern states, he also firmly stated that any attempt to impose Hindi on the region would be opposed. He reaffirmed his stance on linguistic freedom, emphasizing that his position has always remained unchanged.
