Kancha Gachibowli Land Case: HC Directs Krishank to Cooperate

Manne Krishank booked for posting fake AI videos

High Court tells Krishank to cooperate with police

Four FIRs filed; hearing adjourned four weeks

1540012-krishankIn a significant move, the Telangana High Court has directed BRS leader Manne Krishank to cooperate with the police investigation in the Kancha Gachibowli land case. The Gachibowli police registered a case against Krishank for allegedly creating and circulating fake AI-generated videos and images related to 400 acres of land in the Gachibowli area.

The controversial videos, which reportedly contain digitally altered visuals and defamatory statements, targeted the state government and the Chief Minister. Krishank, in response to the FIRs, filed a petition in the High Court seeking dismissal of the cases, arguing that the charges were politically motivated.

During the hearing, Krishank’s lawyer Ramana Rao informed the court that four separate FIRs had been registered for the same incident. He contended that the cases were filed with political malice and aimed at suppressing opposition voices. However, the government’s legal counsel told the court that the accused had deliberately created and posted AI-generated content with false claims regarding the Kancha Gachibowli land issue and made inappropriate remarks against the Chief Minister.

The court, while not granting Krishank any relief from the case, ordered him to fully cooperate with the ongoing police investigation. It also directed the police to issue notices to Konatham Dilip, another individual mentioned in connection with the case. The matter has been adjourned for four weeks for further proceedings.

The case has stirred a political row, with opposition leaders claiming harassment and the ruling government asserting that legal action is necessary to curb the spread of misinformation. The High Court’s directive emphasizes the seriousness of the allegations and the need for due legal process.

The outcome of the investigation is expected to set a precedent in handling cases involving AI-generated misinformation in political discourse.
