Cases registered against Konatham Dilip, Manne Krishank, Thomas Augustine
Gachibowli police file seven FIRs so far in connection with the AI content
More FIRs expected against KTR, Kishan Reddy, Dhruv Rathi, celebrities and protestors
The controversy over the alleged misuse of Artificial Intelligence to create misleading content about Hyderabad Central University (HCU) lands has intensified, with the Gachibowli police registering multiple criminal cases. Authorities have confirmed that cases have been filed against BRS leaders Konatham Dilip, Manne Krishank, and Thomas Augustine for their involvement in generating and circulating AI-based videos and photos online.
Police sources revealed that a total of seven FIRs have already been filed in the case, and investigations are ongoing. Officials say the accused used AI technology to manipulate images and videos that were then posted on social media to spread false narratives regarding land issues involving HCU.
Furthermore, reliable sources indicate that FIRs are also likely to be registered against prominent individuals, including BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao (KTR), Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy, YouTuber Dhruv Rathi, and celebrities such as Raveena Tandon, John Abraham, and Dia Mirza. Former minister Jagadish Reddy and some MLAs are also under scrutiny for allegedly sharing or endorsing such content.
The police have reportedly identified several BRS social media and IT cell members as key contributors to the creation and dissemination of this content. Additionally, protestors from BJP, ABVP, and CPM who staged demonstrations at the HCU campus have also been booked.
Officials have stated that action will be taken against all individuals, irrespective of party or status, if found guilty of spreading misinformation using AI tools.
