Foundation Stones Laid for ₹23 Cr Development Projects in Tanuku: Minister Gottipati
Power Minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar and Roads & Buildings Minister BC Janardhan Reddy, who is also the in-charge minister for West Godavari, laid foundation stones for a slew of development works worth ₹23 crore in Tanuku on Thursday.
The ministers inaugurated CC roads and side drains across various wards of Tanuku Municipality, aimed at improving connectivity in poor and underdeveloped residential areas. They also inaugurated a 33/11 KV substation in Velpur, assuring uninterrupted and quality electricity supply for local residents. Minister Gottipati revealed that two substations have been sanctioned for the Tanuku region to strengthen power infrastructure.
Criticizing the previous government, Minister Gottipati said the YSRCP regime was riddled with corruption, especially in the Tanuku TDR bond deals, where leaders were fined crores of rupees. He accused them of destroying the entire system, causing immense hardship to the people due to the lack of road and basic infrastructure in both municipal and rural areas.
He emphasized that since the coalition government came to power, every effort is being made to revive and improve public systems. "We have cleaned up the municipal system and are paving the way for development through systematic planning," he added.
Minister BC Janardhan Reddy echoed the same sentiments, stating that restoring public trust and ensuring grassroots-level development are the coalition’s top priorities.
The visit and inaugurations mark a significant step forward for Tanuku’s urban development, especially in addressing long-standing issues in poor and neglected neighborhoods.
