'Jaat' Lands in Controversy: Case Filed Against Sunny Deol, Randeep Hooda

Bollywood action film Jaat, starring Sunny Deol and Randeep Hooda, has stirred controversy after a police case was filed in Jalandhar over a scene allegedly hurting Christian sentiments. The complaint alleges that the controversial scene insults Jesus Christ and was deliberately included during the holy period of Good Friday and Easter, potentially inciting unrest.

Alongside Sunny Deol and Randeep Hooda, actor Vineet Kumar Singh and director Gopichand Malineni—known for his work in Tollywood—have also been named in the FIR. The film's producers and writer have been booked under Section 299 of the IPC.

Jaat, which hit screens on April 10, features an ensemble cast including Sayami Kher, Regina Cassandra, Ramya Krishna, Jagapathi Babu, and Zarina Wahab. The film, produced by Mythri Movie Makers and People Media Factory, was released in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu, and has grossed over ₹32 crore to date.
