Rohit Sharma Close to Big Knock, Says Boucher:

Despite a slow start to the 2025 IPL season, Mumbai Indians’ opener Rohit Sharma is showing signs of returning to his best, according to former head coach Mark Boucher. Rohit, who has not crossed the 50-run mark in six matches so far—with 26 being his highest score—was praised for his aggressive intent against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Thursday.

“Rohit took it upon himself to attack the bowlers,” said Boucher. “We saw glimpses of vintage Rohit Sharma—the big sixes, positive body language. He looked like he was in the zone. A big score is coming very soon.”

Boucher, who coached Mumbai Indians in earlier seasons, also praised captain Hardik Pandya’s evolving role in the team. “Hardik is bowling the tough middle overs and picking up key wickets. That’s giving him confidence, and it’s showing in his batting. He’s leading from the front.”

Former India cricketer Ajay Jadeja echoed similar sentiments about Hardik. “Whether it’s fielding, batting or just attitude—Hardik is always in it. Even when things weren’t going well earlier, he didn’t change his approach. That Super Over win against Delhi Capitals was the turning point for MI.”

Boucher also had encouraging words for English all-rounder Will Jacks, who delivered with the ball recently. “He’s under pressure but came through. He’s more than a part-time spinner and can definitely carry this momentum.”

With MI now gaining rhythm and key players stepping up, the franchise appears poised for a potential comeback as the league progresses.
