Pooran Powers LSG to Thrilling 4-Run Win Over KKR in Eden Run-Fest
In one of the most thrilling contests of IPL 2025 so far, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) clinched a narrow 4-run victory over Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Eden Gardens on Tuesday.
Opting to bat first, LSG posted a daunting 238/3 in 20 overs, thanks to a spectacular unbeaten 87 from Nicholas Pooran, who smashed 8 sixes and 7 fours in just 36 balls. He was well supported by Mitchell Marsh, who anchored the innings with a fluent 81 off 48 deliveries. Their explosive partnership laid the foundation for LSG’s mammoth total.
Chasing 239, KKR got off to a strong start with captain Ajinkya Rahane scoring a quick 61 off 35 balls. However, a middle-order collapse saw KKR lose five wickets for just 23 runs, swinging the momentum back in LSG’s favour.
Rinku Singh almost pulled off a miracle for KKR, smashing 14 runs in the final three balls of the innings. But with 19 needed off the final over, LSG’s Ravi Bishnoi kept his cool to ensure victory for his side, as KKR ended at 234/7.
This marks LSG’s third win in the tournament, lifting them higher in the points table. KKR, despite a valiant effort, were left to rue the missed opportunity in what was a match defined by aggressive batting and nerves of steel in the death overs.
With both teams showing explosive potential, the IPL 2025 season continues to deliver edge-of-the-seat excitement for fans across the country.
