‘Arjun S/o Vyjayanthi’ to release worldwide on April 18
Actress Vijayashanthi’s unwavering professionalism has come to the fore once again, as director Pradeep Chilukuri revealed she performed a crucial action sequence for Arjun S/o Vyjayanthi while running a high temperature. The film, starring Nandamuri Kalyan Ram alongside the veteran actress, is set for a grand worldwide release on April 18.
Speaking to the media, Chilukuri detailed how Vijayashanthi, despite suffering from fever and visible shivering, lay in mud for over two hours to complete a forest sequence. “She didn’t move until the scene was done. Her hands were literally shaking, but she gave it everything. After watching her performance, I had goosebumps. It felt like Kalyan Ram garu and Vijayashanthi garu were competing in intensity,” he said.
The film reportedly features high-octane action sequences choreographed by masters like Peter Hein, Ramakrishna, Raghuvaran, and Prithvi. The director noted that each fight sequence had been crafted meticulously, contributing to the emotional and action-packed narrative of the film.
Adding intrigue to the story, Vijayashanthi plays the role of Vyjayanthi IPS — a name that harks back to one of her most iconic roles from a cult classic of the same title. In Arjun S/o Vyjayanthi, she portrays a mother and duty-bound police officer locked in conflict with her son, played by Kalyan Ram, who rises to become a formidable power center.
Produced by Ashok Vardhan Muppa and Sunil Balusu, the film also stars Sohail Khan, Saiee Manjrekar, Srikanth, and Animal Prithviraj. The music is scored by Ajaneesh Loknath, visuals by Ram Prasad, and editing by Tammiraju. Srikanth Vissa has written the screenplay, with art direction by Brahma Kadali.
With the teaser already generating buzz, all eyes are on this emotionally charged action drama that promises both nostalgia and a fresh cinematic experience.
