Sai Sudharsan dazzles with 82-run knock; Shahrukh Khan adds fireworks

Prasidh Krishna leads Titans' bowling to bundle Royals out for 159

Gujarat Titans continued their dominant form in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, securing a thumping 58-run victory over Rajasthan Royals at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Wednesday. With this win, the Titans notched up their fourth consecutive triumph and climbed to the top of the points table.

Put in to bat first, Gujarat Titans showcased their batting firepower, racking up an imposing total of 217 for 6 in 20 overs. Youngster Sai Sudharsan led the charge with a composed and classy 82 off 53 deliveries, striking eight boundaries and three towering sixes. His fluent strokeplay anchored the innings while Shahrukh Khan provided the late surge with a blistering 36 off just 20 balls.

Despite Jofra Archer’s economical bowling effort—returning with figures of 1 for 30—the Rajasthan Royals bowlers were unable to halt Gujarat’s momentum as boundaries flowed freely across the innings.

Chasing a daunting target, Rajasthan Royals faltered early and never truly recovered. Shimron Hetmyer showed some resistance with a fighting half-century, but the lack of support from the top and middle order meant the Royals were always behind in the game. Gujarat’s Prasidh Krishna wreaked havoc with the ball, dismantling the batting lineup and ensuring RR were bowled out for 159 in 19.2 overs.

The result solidifies Gujarat Titans’ status as early frontrunners in IPL 2025. With a balanced unit firing in both departments and consistent match-winners stepping up, the Titans appear well-positioned for a deep run in the tournament.

The match also marked a statement from Sai Sudharsan, whose consistent form is turning heads this season. Meanwhile, Rajasthan Royals will look to regroup quickly and iron out their flaws, especially in the bowling and middle-order departments, as the tournament progresses.
