Tension gripped the Mulugu district after a sensational letter surfaced from Maoists, warning that bombs have been planted around the Karrigutta area in Venkatapuram mandal. The letter, purportedly released by the Vajedu-Venkatapuram Area Committee under the name of Maoist leader Shanta, has created panic among locals and triggered heightened security measures by police.
In the letter, Maoists warned villagers and the general public to stay away from the Karrigutta region, claiming that explosives have been strategically planted. The message accuses the police of luring innocent people by offering money and making false promises, thereby turning them into informers.
Maa mata nammithe, meeku nastam kalugutundi. Polisla abaddha maatalo padakandi, the letter reportedly reads, cautioning locals not to trust the police and avoid falling into their "trap."
Following the release of the letter, local police forces have intensified patrolling in the area and are conducting combing operations to ensure public safety. Bomb squads have also been alerted and are expected to survey the area thoroughly. Authorities have advised residents to remain cautious and report any suspicious activity or unattended items.
The letter comes at a time when security forces have been on high alert due to increased Maoist movements along the Telangana-Chhattisgarh border. Officials believe the Maoists may be using fear tactics to regain influence in interior regions.
