Notices Issued to Pilot, Co-pilot After Jagan's Papireddypalli Visit Mishap

CK Pally Police serve notices under 161 CrPC to pilots, aviation firm

Probe into takeoff after windshield damage at Kuntimaddi helipad

Pilots summoned for questioning on April 16

Tension continues to build over the controversial helicopter incident during YSRCP Chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy's recent visit to Papireddypalli. The CK Pally police have served notices to the pilot, co-pilot, and Chipson Aviation Private Limited under Section 161 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC), summoning them for questioning on April 16.

The incident occurred at the Kuntimaddi helipad, where the helicopter—intended to ferry Jagan—was reported to have a damaged windshield. Despite the apparent technical issue, the chopper reportedly took off, raising serious questions about protocol violations and passenger safety.

Pilot Anil Kumar and co-pilot Shreyaz Jain have been issued specific notices, with police seeking detailed explanations on multiple aspects. Investigators want to know how the helicopter was cleared for takeoff after damage was observed and why it diverted to an unspecified location rather than the designated destination.

The police have also questioned why minimum procedural information was not communicated prior to the takeoff, and what prompted the change in route. The incident has triggered a larger discussion about aviation safety standards, particularly in the context of VIP travel.

Chipson Aviation Private Limited, the firm operating the helicopter, has also been directed to cooperate with the investigation and clarify the sequence of events. Authorities are expected to take further action based on the pilots’ and company’s responses during Tuesday’s questioning session.
