KCR Pays Glowing Tribute to Jagjivan Ram on Birth Anniversary
BRS Chief K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) paid rich tributes to Babu Jagjivan Ram on his birth anniversary, lauding his lifelong struggle against caste discrimination and his outstanding contributions to the nation as a freedom fighter and a statesman.
Remembering his service, KCR said Jagjivan Ram bravely fought social injustice from a young age and later emerged as a symbol of social equality. “He actively participated in the freedom movement and played a transformative role in independent India’s development,” KCR stated.
He highlighted Jagjivan Ram’s tenure as a cabinet minister, where he brought significant reforms in the labour sector, and made valuable contributions to the defence, agriculture, and telecommunications departments. “His work as Deputy Prime Minister reflects his deep commitment to nation-building,” he added.
KCR welcomed the observance of Jagjivan Ram’s birth anniversary as Samata Diwas, stating that it stands as a fitting tribute to his legacy. He stressed the need for society to uphold the values he championed. “Only by working together to eradicate caste-based untouchability and discrimination can we truly honour Babu Jagjivan Ram’s ideals,” KCR asserted.
He called upon all citizens to draw inspiration from Jagjivan Ram’s life and continue the fight for an inclusive and egalitarian society.
