Lay Down Arms, Join Mainstream: Amit Shah to Maoists

Maoists cannot hinder Bastar tribal development, says Union Minister

Amit Shah confident Naxal problem will end by March 2026

Urges Maoists to drop weapons and integrate with society

Union Home Minister Amit Shah has made a strong appeal to Maoists, urging them to shun violence and join the mainstream. During his visit to Dantewada in Chhattisgarh, Shah emphasized that the Maoist movement cannot halt the progress and development of tribal communities in the Bastar region.

Speaking to the public, the Union Minister said that the era of bullets and bomb blasts in Bastar is coming to an end. He expressed full confidence that the Naxalite issue will be resolved completely by March 2026, signaling the government’s commitment to restoring peace in the affected regions.

Shah underlined that Maoists are a part of society and stressed that violence benefits no one. “No one will be happy if a Maoist dies. We want them to live and grow with the rest of the country,” he said. He reiterated that taking up arms will not stop the government's mission to uplift tribal communities through development initiatives.

The minister's visit and remarks come at a crucial time as the Centre intensifies efforts to bring peace and prosperity to Naxal-affected regions through both security operations and socio-economic development programs.
