The minister stated that 85 percent of the state's population will receive fine rice, emphasizing that many people avoid consuming ration rice due to its poor quality. He acknowledged reports of ration rice being sold on the black market and explained that the distribution of fine rice is aimed at addressing these issues.
Uttam Kumar Reddy further revealed that essential items such as lentil and salt will soon be made available in ration shops along with rice. He also assured that arrangements are in place to ensure beneficiaries can access ration supplies anywhere in the state.
Highlighting the government's inclusiveness, the minister announced that new ration cards will be issued based on eligibility, ensuring no deserving person is left out. He clarified that rice will be distributed even if a person does not possess a ration card, provided their name is on the beneficiary list.
The scheme is expected to benefit a large section of the population, providing improved access to quality rice and other essential items.
