The betting apps case continues to make headlines across the Telugu states, with police intensifying their investigation against several celebrities involved in promoting such apps. With the number of victims falling prey to the lure of easy money on the rise, the Telangana police have launched a stringent crackdown.
Among those under scrutiny is anchor Vishnupriya, who has already appeared before the Punjagutta police for questioning once. During her previous interrogation, Vishnupriya was questioned for about three hours, her statement recorded, and her mobile phone seized for investigation.
Seeking relief, Vishnupriya approached the High Court, filing a petition to quash the two FIRs registered against her. However, the court dismissed her petition and instructed her to cooperate with the police investigation. Following these directives, Vishnupriya is set to appear again at the Punjagutta police station today (Saturday).
The police will continue questioning her regarding her promotion of betting apps and related financial transactions. Authorities have indicated that other celebrities involved in similar promotions will also be called in for questioning. The police have made it clear that all those connected to the case, regardless of their stature, will face investigation.
