Request for additional central funds for tourism and cancer treatment

Demand for release of Rs. 109 crore to AP under NHM

Andhra Pradesh Medical and Health Minister Satyakumar Yadav has appealed to the Central Government to allocate an additional Rs. 259 crore to the state under the National Health Mission (NHM) and other schemes. The request was made during his meeting with Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in Delhi on Friday.

The proposal comes as the Central Government is considering reallocations under various schemes with the financial year nearing its end. The Union Health Ministry has sought additional funds amounting to Rs. 800 crore under reallocations. Minister Satyakumar urged the release of Rs. 109 crore to Andhra Pradesh under the NHM.

Additionally, a request for Rs. 150 crore under performance incentive was also made. Minister Satyakumar held discussions with the Union Tourism, Law, and Atomic Energy Ministers, addressing various state-related issues. He emphasized the need for central assistance in tourism development and enhanced cancer treatment facilities in Andhra Pradesh.
