ED Seeks Non-Bailable Warrant Against Nayeem's Family for Illegal Land Seizures
Nayeem's family members allegedly involved in registering seized lands in their names
ED requests special court to issue NBW after family fails to respond to summons
35 illegal properties linked to Nayeem already seized by the ED
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has moved to seek a non-bailable warrant (NBW) against the family members of gangster Nayeemuddin, commonly known as Nayeem, for their involvement in the illegal seizure and registration of lands. According to the ED, Nayeem used threats and intimidation to seize lands, which were then registered in the names of his family members to avoid legal scrutiny.
Despite multiple summonses being issued to Nayeem’s family for questioning, the ED claims they have failed to respond or cooperate with the investigation. This non-compliance has prompted the ED to request a special court to issue a non-bailable warrant to ensure their presence before the authorities.
The ED’s investigation has already led to the confiscation of 35 properties believed to be illegally obtained by Nayeem. These properties, linked to his criminal activities, are part of an ongoing effort by the ED to dismantle the vast network of illegal operations and holdings associated with the gangster.
Legal experts believe that the issuance of an NBW would escalate the legal pressure on Nayeem’s family, further tightening the noose around those involved in the criminal empire. The ED is also reportedly expanding its probe to track down additional assets linked to Nayeem and his associates.
As the investigation continues, authorities are determined to bring all those complicit in the illegal land grab schemes to justice.
