Minister Durgesh to showcase state’s hospitality investment potential at Mumbai hotel conference
Tourism, Culture and Cinematography Minister Kandula Durgesh will visit Mumbai on April 9 and 10 to attract investments in the state’s hospitality sector. He will participate in the 20th South Asia Hotel Investment Conference Workshop, being held at Powai Lake in Mumbai from April 8 to 10.
During the two-day visit, Minister Durgesh will present the state’s potential in the hospitality sector and invite investors to explore the vast opportunities available in the state . He will assure investors of full cooperation, including attractive subsidies and support from the government with an aim to add 50,000 hotel rooms over the next four years, and this visit is seen as a key step toward achieving that goal.
With a vision to create large-scale employment and attract Rs 25,000 crore in tourism sector investments, the minister has already secured more than Rs 1,200 crore in investments and facilitated the signing of eight MoUs. Tourism Secretary Ajay Jain and APTDC Managing Director Amrapali Kata will accompany the minister.
For the first time, a delegation from the state will present the state’s new tourism policy at this prestigious conference. The policy grants industry status to the tourism sector, which is expected to be a key highlight during interactions with leading domestic and international hotel groups attending the event.
The AP delegation is also scheduled to hold multiple meetings with hotel representatives on the sidelines of the workshop. Following the announcement of the coalition government’s new tourism policy, several top hospitality companies have expressed interest in setting up establishments in the state.
